Holidays in February
February hosts many holidays but is most associated with the ultimate holiday of love and romance, Valentine’s Day. Counterpoint to that is also Anti-Valentine’s day, or Singles Awareness Day as it is officially called. But despite all the chocolate hearts and abundance of red roses, there are other things to celebrate in the month of February – like groundhogs, umbrellas, cherry pie and tennis!
February is unique of all the months in that it is the only one whose number of days fluctuates. Febraury has 28 days except on leap year when it has 29. Those born on February 29 have an interesting conundrum – when to celebrate.
February is full of hearts, roses and romance. February 14th sets the stage for a month of love poems, candy hearts, red roses and boxes of heart-shaped chocolates. Groundhogs make their mark too this month, with Groundhog Day being the definitive declaration of how much longer winter will linger.
